Located at 2 South Water Street in Greenwich, Char Restaurant’s wide range of fresh menu options created with locally sourced ingredients have contributed to its long-standing reputation as an area staple.
Serving lunch, dinner, drinks and dessert, Char Restaurant features seasonal menus and daily specials while maintaining an upscale and modern aesthetic:
“The Restaurant was built using reclaimed wood throughout the building. The wall coverings are former floor joists from old buildings that were torn down in Brooklyn; look for the nail holes that are all over the wood. The flooring is waterlogged old white oak from Alabama,” reads the restaurant’s website.
“The cabinetry is antique pine. The bar is antique solid 4” red oak. The lighting fixtures are solid brass, made in Long Island via lights on design. All the walls are painted by local Artist Deb Ryan.”
On Char's menu, you’ll find high-end starters and entrees like risotto, skirt steak, roasted chicken and pork chops. Savory sides include whipped potatoes, broccolini, zucchini and squash and parmesan truffle fries.
Char Restaurant’s flavorful and seasonal menu has helped it earn an impressive 4.7/5 stars on Facebook and 4/5 stars on Yelp. Guests are quick to note the restaurant’s warm atmosphere and traditional yet upscale array of menu items.
“Great food and great service! The restaurant itself has a great vibe and amazing ambiance. From the moment we walked in all of the servers were incredibly welcoming and very knowledgable… We chatted a bit with the owner before he left and learned the story behind the restaurant, making our experience all the more incredible. Overall a great dining experience with great food in a homey yet classy setting. Can't wait to go back!” Wrote Julia D. in an April 24 Yelp review.
